Night Vision
Cleveland Ohio source for Vehicle Night Vision FLIR Camera Integrations
Access 1 Alarm and Audio offers several solutions for night vision for your vehicle. From standalone camera systems that have a separate display to integrating the image on your navigation screen we have a solution.
Our most common camera is the FLIR thermal imaging system, bringing you the same technology to your vehicle as our military and Law Enforcement agencies utilize, such as aerial drones and stealth aircraft to vehicle mounted units on the HUMVEE’s and police SWAT vehicles. These units are designed to provide the user the ability to see in the night when there is no or limited lighting conditions.
Other options is the use of an infrared camera, however the optics are nowhere as near the quality of the FLIR thermal imaging camera and is susceptible to wash out from oncoming lights. Most infrared cameras need a separate infrared illuminator to provide light for the camera to operate whereas the FLIR camera does not.
Technical Parameters of the FLIR System:
The FLIR System is a compact thermal imaging camera that significantly reduces the hazards of night time driving. The automotive night vision system enables the driver to detect and monitor potential hazards on or near the road, allowing more time to react to any potential danger. The thermal imager helps the user recognize pedestrians, animals, or objects in total darkness, smoke, rain and snow.
The FLIR system incorporates an uncooled 320 x 240 microbolometer sensor allowing this maintenance free system to deliver crisp video images which can be displayed on virtually any display that accepts composite video.
The FLIR lens is equipped with a 19 mm wide angle lens to give you an extremely wide field of view (36°), resulting in excellent situational awareness and operates in temperatures from -40° to 170°. The camera system also has an automatic built in heater for temperatures below 40°.
The FLIR system can see images miles away and even picks up the stars at night.
Due to export restrictions, you cannot export our installed version of the FLIR camera on any vehicle or remove it and ship it outside the USA due to its high resolution and technology. However, if you have a vehicle going outside the USA, we can offer you the same great camera with a lower refresh rate to meet export requirements from the US Govt.
What else can you do with the FLIR camera? With the special camera interface sold separately you can change the black and white image to color and also when hooked up to the bright light switch, you can have 2X zoom of the camera as seen in the below video.
