hid lights articleThere are multiple benefits to using HID lighting kits and the obvious is more lighting, but other factors are efficiency and longevity. Due to the low power consumption when compared to a halogen bulb the HID system does not use as much power and lasts longer.

At Access 1 Alarm and Audio, our HID kits are top of the line and economically priced. We offer many versions to fit your vehicle, from size to color, and offer matching fog light kits as well.

The various colors that we stock are the 6K (6000 K) or 8K (8000 K), the 6K are bright white with a small tint of blue where the 8K are white with more of a blue hue. Sure there are 10k and 13k but they offer no improvement over the 6K or 8K and make your vehicle look silly with purple lighting.

What is the “K” difference?

hid bulb articleBasically it is referring to the color of the light measured in Kelvin the lower the number, the more yellowish or red hue the light emitted will have while the higher number is more blue to purple and helps defining what you want. Most applications use the 6K or 8K.

Not all vehicles can accept the HID lighting as they have the older glass bulb headlights. We have solutions for that also as we stock multiple glass conversion lenses that come with a reflector plate allowing you to upgrade to HID lighting at an extra cost. These allow those with the older vehicles or even show vehicles to be included with today’s modern technology.
